永井博は1947年、徳島市生まれ。グラフィックデザイナーを経て、1978年よりフリーのイラストレーターとして活躍。1970年代後半から1980年代にかけてのシティポップミュージシャンのアルバム・ジャケットに用いられたことで、当時の文化を象徴する存在として、いまも多くの人を魅了し続けています。大滝詠一の名盤アルバム『A LONG VACATION』や『NIAGARA SONG BOOK』のジャケットのほか、数々のレコードジャケットや広告など、世代や国境を越えて愛され続ける「理想の風景」は、ノスタルジーと非日常感を呼び覚まします。
Hiroshi Nagai was born in Tokushima City in 1947. After working as a graphic designer, he became a freelance illustrator in 1978. His work on album covers for City Pop musicians from the late 1970s to the 1980s made him a symbol of that era's culture, and he continues to captivate many people today. His iconic “ideal landscapes,” seen on the covers of Eiichi Ohtaki's legendary albums ‘A LONG VACATION’ and ‘NIAGARA SONG BOOK,’ as well as numerous other record sleeves and advertisements, evoke nostalgia and a sense of the extraordinary, enduring love across generations and borders.

永井博
永井博は1947年徳島市生まれ。グラフィックデザイナーを経て、76年よりイラストレーターとして活躍。大瀧詠一の『A LONG VACATION』『NIAGARA SONG BOOK』などのレコードジャケットに代表される、トロピカルでクリアな風景イラストレーションを得意とする。出版物として、CBSソニー出版『A LONG VACATION』（1979）、『HALATION』（1981）、小学館『NIAGARA SONGBOOK』（1982）、ぶんか社『Time goes by…』（2008）、復刊ドットコム『CONTRAST』（2019）、『NITEFLYTE』（2020）、『FAVORITE』（2021）を刊行。
大瀧詠一のアルバムジャケット『A LONG VACATION』では、CBSソニーよりアルバムジャケット特別賞として、ゴールドディスクを受賞。大瀧詠一のレコードジャケットによって、そのイラストの作風は独自の地位を築き、その他、サザンオールスターズ、松岡直也、石黒ケイ、HIROSHIⅡHIROSHI、憂歌団、杉山清貴など、多くのアーティストのレコード／CDジャケットを飾る。近年ではAORのコンピレーション『breeze」シリーズ、ikkubaru「Amusement Park」「Brighter」、Teen Runnings『NOW』、サニーデイ・サービス『DANCE TO YOU』、アメリカのLight In The Attic Recordsより発売されたコンピレーション『Pacific Breeze: Japanese City Pop, AOR & Boogie 1976-1986』の1と2のジャケット・アートワークを担当。また2017年7月に『Time goes by…』が復刊された。20年9月、オーストラリア・シドニーにてエキシビションを開催。
Hiroshi Nagai was born in Tokushima City in 1947. After working as a graphic designer, he has been active as an illustrator since 1976. He is known for his tropical, clear landscape illustrations, exemplified by record jackets for Eiichi Ohtaki's A LONG VACATION and NIAGARA SONG BOOK. His publications include CBS Sony Publishing's A LONG VACATION (1979) and HALATION (1981), Shogakukan's NIAGARA SONGBOOK (1982), Bunka-sha's ‘Time goes by…’ (2008), Fukkan.com's ‘CONTRAST’ (2019), ‘NITEFLYTE’ (2020), and ‘FAVORITE’ (2021).
For the album jacket of Eiichi Ohtaki's ‘A LONG VACATION’, he received a Gold Disc award from CBS Sony as a Special Album Jacket Award. His illustration style gained a unique standing through Otaki's record jackets, and he also designed record/CD jackets for numerous other artists including Southern All Stars, Naoya Matsuoka, Kei Ishiguro, HIROSHIⅡHIROSHI, Yūka Dan, and Kiyotaka Sugiyama. In recent years, he handled the jacket artwork for the AOR compilation series ‘breeze’, ikkubaru's ‘Amusement Park’ and ‘Brighter’, Teen Runnings' ‘NOW’, Sunny Day Service's ‘DANCE TO YOU’, and volumes 1 and 2 of the compilation ‘Pacific Breeze: Japanese City Pop, AOR & Boogie 1976-1986’ released by the American label Light In The Attic Records. Additionally, ‘Time goes by...’ was reissued in July 2017. In September 2020, he held an exhibition in Sydney, Australia.
